His play stretches a beautiful canvas for the director to explore sex, violence, and how these forces can drive a person to commit the unspeakable. Audrey Rogulski's superb translation, possible only by someone with the heart of a dramatist and a mind of a philosopher, articulates these themes with sensitivity and precision. Through her and N'Dongo's extraordinary work this, or rather theses Medeas, will not live in the fixed and impermeable past, but in the vital present that makes up our contemporary reality.
