Biographie

Le Cardinal John Henry Newman est né à Londres en 1801. Prêtre anglican, il s''est converti au catholicisme en 1845, après des recherches sur les Pères de l'Église. Il voit l'Église catholique comme la confession la plus fidèle aux racines du christianisme. Newman décrit sa conversion au dans Apologia Pro Vita Sua. Léon XIII, le crée cardinal en 1879.
