Biographie

Sir Thomas Malory est né vers 1405 et décédé en 1471 en Grande-
Bretagne. De lui, on sait très peu de choses et les quelques éléments
biographiques recueillis à son sujet sont souvent de simples suppositions.
Seuls faits assurés, il a été chevalier et est l'auteur ou le compilateur
du Roman du roi Arthur, considéré comme le premier roman arthurien
moderne.
On suppose qu'il aurait été prêtre et qu'il aurait été anobli en 1442,
avant d'entrer au Parlement anglais pour représenter le Warwickshire.
Il aurait écrit son roman pendant qu'il était emprisonné à Londres, mais
son oeuvre n'a pu être publiée qu'après sa mort, en 1485.
