Biographie

William Henry Hudson (1841-1922) est un ornithologue, naturaliste et écrivainbritannique né en Argentine. Il est un membre fondateur de la Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, en Grande-Bretagne, où il s'est installé à partir de 1869. Ce sont ses livres sur la campagne anglaise, initiant un mouvement de retour à la nature dans les années 1920 et 1930, qui ont favorisé sa renommée en Europe. Parmi ses nombreux ouvrages, ont été publiés chez Klincksieck Conseils aux chasseurs devipères suivi de Un bois de pins près de la mer (2015) ; Venins (avec Patrick Reumaux, 2015), Chants d'oiseaux (2019) et Vertes Demeures(2020).
