Biographie

Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936), romancier et poète anglais, a été souvent considéré comme un « prophète de l'impérialisme britannique », selon l'expression de George Orwell. Il fut, en 1907, le premier auteur de langue anglaise à recevoir le prix Nobel de littérature, et le plus jeune auteur récompensé en son temps. Cette édition a été établie par Francis Lacassin.
