Osvaldo Patrizzi est fasciné de longue date par l'horlogerie. Il a été apprenti horloger à Milan de 1965 à 1973, avant d'être employé comme restaurateur de montres anciennes. Il est ensuite devenu expert de l'Association italienne des marchands d'horlogerie ancienne et consultant pour la douane suisse. Il fonde la Galerie d'Horlogerie Ancienne, qui devient Antiquorum en 1981. En 2007, il fonde PATRIZZI & CO. AUCTIONEERS. Au cours de sa longue et illustre carrière, Patrizzi a été responsable de la vente de plus de 75% de toutes les montres jamais vendues à plus d'un million de dollars. Son "Grading System" (grille d'évaluation) est le moyen le plus fiable pour les collectionneurs d'évaluer l'état de leurs investissements potentiels.
