Biographie

Patricia Cornwell est née à Miami, en Floride. Pour son personnage Kay Scarpetta, médecin légiste expert, Cornwell a obtenu le Sherlock Award en 1999, qui récompense le meilleur détective créé par un auteur américain. Les enquêtes de Kay Scarpetta se sont vu décerner, entre autres prix, le Gold Dagger, l'Edgar, le Creasey, le Macavity et le prix du Roman d'aventure. Ses ?uvres sont publiées dans plus de trente-cinq pays. Elle réside la plupart du temps dans le Massachusetts. Patricia Cornwell est également connue pour ses actions philanthropiques : la lutte contre l'illettrisme et l'aide et le soutien aux victimes.
